A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you
settle in.

What can I do with Orgbit today?+

Organize and open Salesforce orgs, run SOQL queries, inspect and export query results, and execute anonymous Apex. Save queries and scripts in the Workbench, edit Snowfakery recipes, generate sample data, and load it into a selected org with CumulusCI. Shared workspaces and team accounts are still being explored.

Do I need Salesforce CLI installed?+

Orgbit uses Salesforce CLI to connect to your orgs, plus Snowfakery and CumulusCI for data generation. The setup wizard checks your tools and helps install what’s missing. You’ll need Node.js/npm and pipx for those installations.

Where does my workspace data live?+

Your workspace, recipes, and preferences are stored locally on your device. Salesforce CLI manages authentication. Actions such as signing in, querying data, running Apex, and loading records connect to Salesforce; your chosen recipe sources and update checks can also use the network.

Can I use it with production orgs?+

Yes. Orgbit separates environment types, confirms production data loads by default, and requires confirmation before executing anonymous Apex in production. Data loads and Apex can change real Salesforce records, so validate recipes and scripts in a disposable org first.

Is Orgbit an official Salesforce product?+

No. Orgbit is an independent product. It works with Salesforce using Salesforce CLI and open-source tools. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Salesforce.
